„I find it hard to see this illness as anything other than a gift. Now, everything has become more important, more beautiful, more real”

Introduction to a blog chapter dedicated to my work with oncology patients - on the journey that begins with a cancer diagnosis and the search for meaning in a new reality.
Very often, patients ask: "How do others go through this? What do they say? Do they feel the same as I do?". Within this question lies a deep desire to understand oneself in this new reality and to be reassured that what we feel is "normal." The stories of others can help us see the similarities that provide a sense of community, but also the differences that stem from the uniqueness and individuality of each of us.
